I just saw on CNN claim that Donald Trump took 3 positions on abortion in 3 hours. He seems to have a somewhat conservative stand, but he flip flops and seems to bow to whatever pressure he is under. Or he seems to choose whatever position makes the biggest splash at that moment. Regardless of how he truly stands, I do not think he will ever say, “The bible is my authority and the God of the bible is who I care about pleasing, and I honor the Constitution because it was based on that precious book. So I will say that life begins at conception, abortion is murder, and I won’t change because God doesn’t change.”
I think he resonates with so many “Christian” Americans because typically today, few want to take a bold stand. Oh, yes, the liberals will take bold stands and not care who gets in their way. If they think it is discrimination to forbid a pervert male to use the ladies room just because he feels like it, they will force everyone to bow down to their foolishness even if women, children, and 98% of America is at risk now. They despise the bible legislating morality, but they have no problem legislating Immorality.
Many times Christians won’t take strong stands today. Their zeal for truth is softened by their love for the world, and they are as distracted by the affairs of this world as the lost. And with much of Christianity inhabited by false converts, there is a mixed multitude in the average church of lost tares and saved wheat, sitting in in the pew together until harvest time. The false convert will never shed his love for the world. The saved American Christian dabbles usually in the world and it can still fascinate. At best we today are like Saul, saving the best the world offers for our own sacrifices.
Parents today captivate their children’s child like faith with the false gods of childhood, Santa, Easter bunnies, and Tooth fairies. The gods they can see, that offer what they want, instead of what they need, get in their hearts and continue until they have their own children. Doubt it? Watch the typical parents listen without batting an eye to blasphemies of Jesus by and see his laws violated and his people deny Him by their lifestyles.
At best they usually make no clear distinction that Jesus is actually real, and at worst they put more stock in those “gods” of America that can be seen, instead of the true and living God you need to see by faith.
Seeing is not believing. If that is what you need to trust God, you will fall hook, line, and sinker for the coming Anti Christ. He will woo and wow you with signs and wonders. The Jewish nation missed Jesus simply because they didn’t understand there were 2 comings – #1 was the way of humility on a donkey and suffering as a servant. Coming #2 is the future coming — after the Antichrist comes to power — and is the conquering King that will rule and reign. This is not fairy tale hope-so stuff. These are real events, just as real as Jesus birth, and just as real as his resurrection.
