I wrote this comment on Facebook earlier as someone was debating that the gift of healing is still around today. God can heal, yes, and God can heal in response to a prayer of faith, but the men with the gifts of healing are not going to be found today.
As I wrote last week, Benny Hinn couldn’t cure a ham.
These so called signs and wonders you see today (from these faith healers) are either phony or demonic.
Here are some thoughts.
1) The antichrist is going to woo and wow with many of these very signs that mesmerize too much of Christiandom today.
2.) The emphasis today is on the gospel and healing men’s souls. if i healed physically a whole hospital ward, in 100 years everyone of them would be in hell if they never were healed spiritually.
3.) I find that many many of our physical aliments are spiritually related. If we don’t obey the bible and go to our brother with aught, we can internalize it and have stress, ulcers, anxiety, etc. We are body, soul, and spirit, and these are very finely tuned so if one part is sick, the other 2 parts very often get affected. Everything is so closely wired and many, many physical issues are either from neglecting what God says, or rejecting what God says. If something is self inflicted and can be cured simply by doing what God says these will heal many times on their own. A good example is someone with anxiety or depression. Jesus says be careful for nothing and with prayer and supplication present your requests to God. We tend to worry when we instead should pray, and yes stress and worry will affect your health. The bible talks about in the last days where men’s hearts are failing them due to the fear out there. You can trust God and learn to trust God and let God work on you and keep going to God and keep running to God with every stress and care. Eventually you will learn that God is in control and He cares about even the numbers of hairs on our heads. Jesus says Consider the lilies. Or you can keep going your way and consider what they offer. The world says Consider the valium. Consider the Happy hour. Consider the mental hospital. These will destroy you and make you sicker. At the very least they will let you unplug your engine light and keep driving your way. Which has the final destination of hell and destruction programmed in it’s GPS. So no matter where you turn if you are going your own way, you will find out you ended up exactly in the same ditch.
For those issues that are not in our control form our decisions yes, God can heal but we don’t go to a healer. We can obey James 4 perhaps, but that is simply asking God for his will and trusting Him to handle things. Many times i have gone to God first when my children had fevers, etc and i see the fevers get better for no explanation.
4.) Many sicknesses etc God will not heal because they simply are reaping what we sow. Someone cannot reject God’s rules for sex only in the context of marriage and then pray for God to heal an STD. You can’t smoke for 30 years, and ask god to heal your lung cancer. But God is so merciful that once the self-inflicted disease brings you to your knees and in faith and repentance, He just may very well decide to heal at some point after that. But the point is when you get healed spiritually, you honestly won’t be as concerned. A murderer on death row may get saved and now he has peace with God. Yes, he would be thrilled to get a last minute earthly pardon. But a truly born again child of God is more excited about his last minute heavenly pardon and can now see how he deserves any earthly punishment. He is remorseful and ready to be accountable to his actions. God may pardon him but there is no guarantee. Health aliments work the same way, and today these so-called Faith Healers boss God around and demand he heal . If the person doesn’t get healing, the faith healer blames the sick person for not having enough faith. Jesus said if you had the faith of a mustard seed. It is very doubtful the person who failed to get healed came in doubt or the person would not have bothered throwing himself at the “Healers” feet for mercy.
Many illnesses etc are directly or indirectly from a country under God’s curse. God is not sending folks cancer I would say, but when we live in a cursed world and we have cancer causing agents as regular additives and cancer in America is a billion dollar industry.
When in reality it likely is a vitamin deficiency, and many cultures that do not have an America diet do not get cancer. You will also notice cancer wasn’t as big a player years ago. This explanation could be genetic of some sorts, but the reason for that is either it is diet related and you tend to cultivate the same appetites for food in your children simply because that is what you both are regularly exposed to. Or two, we are going away from what evolution believes, that everything gets better over time. Instead our genes etc get worse over time and an increase in cancer could be simply the curse that man is getting worse and worse even down to the cellular level.
God might not always be able to take those cases away. He can but sometimes he doesn’t. Another example is brain disorders. Many so called chemical imbalances are spiritual imbalances. You can’t get cured by taking prozac. Dementia might be caused by aluminum in the brain. Well, fluoride causes aluminum retention. fluoride is in our water and tooth paste and we are told it is wonderful i am saying you don’t know a lot of the time why someone is sick. but God can heal — and again, most of the time getting right with God will get us to the healthy path.
I say stay healthy or get healthy simply because you can do more for God. but ultimately, it is not the priority. make sense?
