Wise Men Still Seek Him

I get into the nitty gritty of Christmas and my take on it in the tract I wrote called Yes, Virginia there’s been a Savior Born!  It can be found on the home page here.

There is a lot of debate whether a true Christian can celebrate Christmas.  Most Christians today, especially American ones, hold onto Christ with one hand and the world with another.        Most have the idea they can have the best of both, Santa who gives them all they want to keep them fat and sassy on this life, and a selfish view of Jesus where they want Him to give them an eternal party in heaven.

I think we can shun Christmas but it will be hard not to stay “right but keep our Joy”.

We can hold hands with Jesus and Santa (Satan) like the world. Or we can walk with God and trust Him to keep us balanced.

Some quick thoughts and we’ll go to the house:

1) Christmas is a time when people are more open than ever. Make that the priority to give out tracts and show people that there is Stressmass and Christmas and there is a way to shun one and hold to one. (for example, can you watch Handel’s Messiah and honestly think God cannot be glorified by the Christmas season?)

2) Make it about others. if you have children have them make gifts for kids in 3rd world countries.

3) realize that faith makes obedience possible but love makes it easy. be in awe of Jesus and trust him to show you what glorifies Him and what doesn’t.

4) realize there is a world dying and going to hell while a world that doesn’t understand when we bite and devour over a Christmas tree.

5) who are we to judge another man’s servant? i wouldn’t use my time to justify my tree or justify not having a tree. i would use this time to get the gospel in the hands of as many as possible.

If we were unified about that part of it the other things wouldn’t be the focus.

Make sense?

So a Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
