I could give you great intellectual reasons why the KJV is superior. All the new translations come from corrupted manuscripts. Verses are missing, words are changed, words are missing, etc. I could give you common sense reasons. Jesus said my sheep hear my voice. One way to heaven, One Word that became Flesh. Jesus warned of False Christs. Jesus is the WORD that became flesh, and the Bible is the WORD of God on paper. Would make sense if the devil would try to create False Words. Right from the beginning, the devil made Eve doubt, and change God’s word. “YEAH HATH GOD SAID?”
I could give you proof where God has checks and balances only in the KJV that break apart in the new versions. For example, numbers have meanings. 666 is the number of the Antichrist 6 is the number of man (made on 6th day, buried 6 feet under, etc). The book of Romans has 6 letters in it, contains the word man. Guess what? It is the 6th book of the NT. Can you guess what in the KJV is the 6th word of the 6th verse of the 6th chapter? MAN. And would you be surprised to find out the numerology revelations completely break down in all the other versions?
i could show you the fruit. God is not the author of confusion. Look at the fruit the KJV produces THUS SAITH THE LORD ! during the great awakening etc. Churches that use other versions have no authority. Whatever book works for you. Whatever translation you prefer. Whatever way to heaven. It all fits a have it your way American Christianity.
And I could say by testimony that I know that I know that I know. I was saved in the modern circles and read the NIV every day for the first 3 years. I was challenged with evidence for the KJV but that didin’t convince me because the liberal scholars had “evidence” for theirs if you didn’t want to embrace honest reasonable evidence. finally i saw enough fruitlessness in modern Christianity that i reasoned that Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
if we are not seeing people made free, we must be ignoring, hiding, or changing the truth. i then felt it was reasonable to read the KJV exclusively with a 30 day challenge that began with a prayer — Lord, if this is the real and only word of God, I am willing to obey you no matter what the cost. I need you to show me. And then after 30 days, praying and asking God, on my knees wanting the truth more than I wanted to stay right, the LIGHT went off and I knew that this was the WORD of God.
it really is about our pride. we like to be the one in authority to God’s word.
