When climbing the mountains of life, whether you get shot down half way up, or end up waving at everyone from the top, there will be many joining you once you have shown them the path.
The farther you climb, the more you will be able to see those above you. And the higher you climb the more you will give others below you courage to take a step.
The climb starts out lonely but it won’t end that way.
So keep on climbing.
The view from the top — and the influence made along the way — is worth it!
Here is a reason to keep moving forward as I have learned this first hand and was thinking about this today. I started getting a little discouraged realizing that in life, it seems if you fail and get hurt along the road of life, many reject you and leave you where you fell until you find a way up and out.
But the reverse is true too— once you start gaining momentum and start endurance training and maybe pass those that left you for dead years back, they don’t run to catch up with you either. Instead they will shoot at you from beind.
The only “safe” place in life is to conform and blend in and not make waves. People want to live in a land of indecision and sameness. Enter the Neutral Zone.
But that is not a successful life and how can you make a difference when you blend in with everyone else? To make a difference you need to be different. And not freak out when you are treated different. But to embrace that because it means you are on the right track.
So expect rejection, misunderstaning, and flying arrows, but don’t let it get you bitter. Make it get you better. It is a sign you are climbing, and it is far better to be rejected for success than rejected for failure. And many are scared to leave the pack — but you may give them the courage.
Yes, if you start to climb that mountain you might find that many want to stay where it is safer. Higher up, yes, you might get shot at easier.
But whether you get shot down half way up, or end up waving at everyone from the top, there will be many joining you once you have shown them the path. And that it can be done.
And you will find many watching you when you are waving from the top.
Do you want that mountain?
I am going to keep climbing. I may have a day of recovery, when my heart aches and I can’t go on, when I can’t take another arrorw, when the air starts to thin and I just want to catch my breath. But the climb will continue.
I am not going to roll down the hill. I am not going to accept the nearest helicopter rescue.
I wish the way was less rocky, but it just means I need to train harder. And realize the more I climb, the more I can see others who have made it before me. And that is what many on the bottom will see too.
