This is something I posted on Facebook June 28th.
Crazy construction traffic on way to work. Took me 20 minutes from Ridge exit on thruway to my pharmacy on Center this morning.
Funny though that it opened a door of witness. First, yesterday as I was heading to thruway, I had both windows open and the construction guy directing traffic was within arms reach from my passenger window. I simply reached out, said hello, and gave him my website card. He was thankful. I find unexpected things like these are fun for me, but also effective because God gives me the idea. My thoughts are this is crazy, God.
Today, after trying to make the most of the traffic — I pulled out a book and was reading for a few minutes — there was another long delay at the light at the intersection of Seneca and Ridge, right in front of Mr. Tire. Three cars in a row had their windows open, and God gave me the idea to give one a tract.
I got out of my car, walked over to the guy, and just happened to have the Chick tract, “The Long Trip” on me. I said, “It is going to be a long wait up there, here is something to read.”
He was very thankful and was reading while stuck in traffic when I finally was able to move along.
I might just take this route tomorrow! Just will have to leave 20 minutes early. With some tracts.
