Galatians 3 is a good chapter to understand works for salvation vs. the simple fruits OF salvation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

2\u00a0<\/sup>This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

3\u00a0<\/sup>Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh<\/strong>?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

4\u00a0<\/sup>Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

5\u00a0<\/sup>He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith<\/strong>?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

6\u00a0<\/sup>Even as Abraham believed God<\/strong>, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

7\u00a0<\/sup>Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

8\u00a0<\/sup>And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

9\u00a0<\/sup>So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

10\u00a0<\/sup>For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

11\u00a0<\/sup>But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

12\u00a0<\/sup>And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

13\u00a0<\/sup>Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

14\u00a0<\/sup>That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

15\u00a0<\/sup>Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

16\u00a0<\/sup>Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

17\u00a0<\/sup>And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

18\u00a0<\/sup>For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

19\u00a0<\/sup>Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

20\u00a0<\/sup>Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

21\u00a0<\/sup>Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

22\u00a0<\/sup>But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

23\u00a0<\/sup>But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

24\u00a0<\/strong><\/sup>Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

25\u00a0<\/sup>But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster<\/strong>.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

26\u00a0<\/sup>For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

27\u00a0<\/sup>For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

28\u00a0<\/sup>There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

29\u00a0<\/sup>And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hyper Calvinists. \u00a0 Calling Jesus by his Hebrew name. \u00a0 Sabbath-keeping. \u00a0 Vegan\/meat abstaining.\u00a0 Post-trib rapture. \u00a0 Rapture of all those who have completely repented and are living perfect.\u00a0 Those that teach if you endure to the end you will be saved.\u00a0 Catholics keeping the sacraments.\u00a0 Needing baptism to be saved.<\/div>\n

Seeing Jesus as a helper to get you to heaven but you have to do your part. \u00a0 Sinless perfection. \u00a0 Stop sinning and come to Jesus.\u00a0 Speaking in tongues. \u00a0 Getting baptized with the Holy Ghost.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Do you know what all these have in common?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
All of these claim to be the true missing ingredient for true salvation. \u00a0 They don\u2019t deny Jesus saves BUT it\u2019s \u201cJesus and….\u201d. \u00a0 Think of it like this:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

Jesus said He is the door to salvation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Now instead of just Jesus behind the door – picture someone standing directly in front of that door-<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n
And while they may believe Jesus is still the door – they will have a hard time letting you past THEM.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\n
And they will not really understand how you got around them to Jesus.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
But it\u2019s not by works of righteousness we have done but by His mercy He saves us.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
What must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Not believe and be baptized.\u00a0 Not believe and call on the Hebrew name of Jesus.\u00a0 Not believe and stop eating meat.\u00a0 Not believe and obey the sabbath. \u00a0 Not believe and keep the commandments. \u00a0 Not believe and be one of the elect.<\/div>\n

It\u2019s not JESUS and whatever. \u00a0 \u00a0There is nothing you can add to salvation.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Jesus paid it all.\u00a0 And if you are honest you will see that deceitful workers and sects and false teachers and false religions add something to the simplicity that is in Christ – and that lifts them up and gives them something to boast about.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Whatever your hobby horse you are riding to the gates of Heaven- get off.\u00a0 And see that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life.<\/div>\n
