Revelation 3:17<\/h3>\n

14<\/sup><\/a>And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; <\/em><\/p>\n

15<\/sup><\/a>I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. <\/em><\/p>\n

16<\/sup><\/a>So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. <\/em><\/p>\n

17<\/sup><\/a>Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

18<\/sup><\/a>I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.<\/em><\/p>\n

19<\/sup><\/a>As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. <\/em><\/p>\n

20<\/sup><\/a>Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me<\/em><\/p>\n

What is it mean to be lukewarm?<\/p>\n

Jesus uses that to describe our church period. It is the last fleeting moments before His return- we are the church of the Laodicean- which means rights of the people.<\/p>\n

And at another spot God describes what destroyed Sodom- now they were sodomites, yes, but that was the end result of a slippery slope- God doesn\u2019t even mention that sin in Ezekiel but says they were idle, satisfied, and prideful.<\/p>\n

Pride is exalting yourself- thinking highly of yourself- loving yourself. Consumed with self.
\nSeems homosexuality then is the next step.<\/p>\n

Anyway – I was really wanting to get into what Lukewarm is. I think we can use ME as an example.<\/p>\n

There was a church service tonight down in Little Valley NY- my favorite author Dr. Bill Grady was just an hour away. I would have had to leave by 6 but I could make it. All I had to do was pick up our fixed mower 15 minutes away and I would be home in time. Well for some reason I didn\u2019t plan good and it was 6:20 by the time I could leave- too late but he will be there tomorrow.<\/p>\n

And our church was having a prayer meeting at 8 so I figured I would make that at least- and I would even have time to mow the front yard.<\/p>\n

I was feeling a bit tired which I still haven\u2019t learned my lesson about- but I get on my knees to pray and with my hands folded and my head on my hands I pray- for maybe 30 seconds. 30 minutes later I awoke confused- oh yes I was going to mow. So I mowed and get in and it\u2019s 845 and I remember the prayer meeting.<\/p>\n

Oops.<\/p>\n

Now I didn\u2019t sin. I mowed the yard. I didn\u2019t go get drunk or go to a strip club or go snort some coke or go out looting for a big screen TV.<\/p>\n

I interned to go to church- I attempted to pray.<\/p>\n

BUT- it\u2019s not red hot spirituality where things are clicking on all cylinders and I have the family all ready to go and we have a System and I was up at 6am mowing and in my bible.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t cold- I wasn\u2019t shaking my fist at God and cursing him and going to the liquor store either.<\/p>\n

I am right dab in the middle – Jesus is coming any day and there is no urgency or tears of repentance or awareness of my need-of-nothing spirituality.<\/p>\n

That is the issue with lukewarm- It\u2019s comfortable.<\/p>\n

I have little to beg for prayer about. I don\u2019t have the earth shattering miracles coming like when I first got saved- but I\u2019ve got this luxurious lackadaisical tip-toe-through-the-tulips This is the day that the Lord hath made rejoicing.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s safe. Maybe that is the big issue with lukewarm-<\/p>\n

We are comfortable.<\/p>\n

And we are safe.<\/p>\n

We aren\u2019t in big sin necessarily. We are still on track on our bible schedule. We still pray three times a day but we also know that the lions den was replaced with puppies and daisies and bunnies. So if we pray, great, if we don\u2019t God knows.<\/p>\n

Satisfied. Happy as a clam- with our shells closed to the words cries and pain and coming torment in the lake of fire.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m not looking at porn. That should count? I am watching TV-PG cooking shows now. The worst I seen this month was Family Feud.<\/p>\n

And we don\u2019t see that this state is maybe the worst to be in- because we may care – we may care about being closer to God and we may care about getting to more church services and we may care about souls- but if we are honest- this church age doesn\u2019t care enough to do anything about it.<\/p>\n

Here is a good literal interpretation of Revelation 3:20 — We evangelize this verse with Jesus is knocking at your heart. There is a bible principle you can use with that verse as elsewhere the prayer is – Let Christ dwell in your heart by faith. BUT literally this is saying Jesus is standing outside the door of that church. And “having need of nothing,” they don’t even realize Jesus is OUTSIDE.<\/div>\n
If any man hear my voice. This applies literally to the church but it can apply individually too. <\/span><\/div>\n

MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE. – JESUS<\/div>\n
Can you hear HIM? OR is there too much background noise from the world around you?<\/div>\n
